2026 Policies
Our Responsibilities
We will teach your child the language and enjoyment of music. Our studio has a positive, enthusiastic and inspiringenvironment. Curriculum is tailored to match each student’s specific learning needs.
Student & Family Responsibilities
Students agree to arrive at each lesson punctually, well-prepared, and with their assignment books and music. Tomake good progress, quality practice is necessary. We want your child to completely understand every assignment. Please ask questions. If your child is experiencing anything at home or at school that might interfere with their ability to focus and learnduring their lesson, please notify us so that we can accommodate the needs of your child. A quick text on the wayto lesson can make the difference between a great lesson and a difficult one. (Did Max just find out that he didn'tget the part in the play? Give us a heads up. Was Jane hospitalized on your recent trip to Thailand? Let us know!) Wedon't expect personal/private details, but even a general idea gives us the ability to adjust our approach for your child.
Make Up Policy
• Any lesson that a teacher cancels will be made up.
• Student absences are not made up. In the event a student is ill, or does not have transportation, avirtual lesson can be held at the normal lesson time.
Discontinuing Lessons
Every student is on a month to month basis. To discontinue lessons and to discontinue charges to your account, fill out the withdrawal form before the 15th of your last month. We do not prorate tuition for the last month’s lessons.Students will be responsible for their last month’s tuition whether or not they attend lessons. If a student decides to take a break for a month or more, they will loose their spot, (teacher, day/time of lesson). However, if they take off and continue to pay, they will also get to keep their current spot. When a student discontinues lessons, all make up credits are terminated. If the student wants to re-enroll, they will need to pay an enrollment fee of $25.
Summer Vacation
CSM operates year round and does not close for the summer. If you are taking off for vacation and want to resume the next month, your payment is still due on the first of the month to reserve your lesson space. Partial make up lessons will be offered for those lessons missed.
Inclement Weather
In the event we are experiencing a weather event to include flooding, tornado warnings, snow and/or ice on the roads and lessons are cancelled, they will be made up at a later date when the weather improves.
Tuition
There is an enrollment fee of $25 per student for new students or those returning after an extended break.
Monthly tuition is based on a 46 week year. We are closed for certain holidays. In the long months, you will get five lessons, short months you may get three lessons. The tuition is the SAME each month, i.e. we don't charge you more when you have five lessons, and we don’t charge less when you have three lessons. This makes everyone’s accounting easier.
Private lessons are $149 per month for 30 minute lessons. There are a total of 46 lessons during the calendar year 2026. Tuition may be paid via venmo, paypal, check or auto draft at no extra charge. Auto draft payments will be paid on the first of each month.
Tuition for 45-minute lessons is $223.50 per month.
A late fee of $35 will be added to tuition that has not been paid by the 7th of each month for those choosing the six (6) monthly payment option. Fees remitted past the 10th of the month will incur a $50 late fee.
Tuition fees may be paid through the monthly emailed invoice, or:
• Auto Draft
• Check
• Venmo - @Chewning School or @MichelleChewning
• PayPal - www.paypal.me/ChewningSchool
A one time “trial” 30 minute lesson is $42, and a 45 minute lessons is $60.
Fees at PRIMROSE for a group lesson will be $80 per month.
Care of Students
The school is not responsible for providing before or after care for students. Parents with children not in lessons and under the age of eight that are waiting in the lobby must remain in the school waiting area during lessons.
Open Door Policy
